Azimuth Corporation of Beavercreek, Ohio is one of the awardees on the CDAO’s $249-million ceiling Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA). The Department of Defense’s CDAO is charged with the acceleration of the DoD’s adoption of data, analytics, and AI to generate decision advantage across national security organizations, from the boardroom to the battlefield. The AIT 2.0 effort is an evolution of the AIT 1.0 BPAs awarded in September 2020 through the Air Force District of Washington, Procurement Directorate (PK). The 2020 set of BPAs were not fully decentralized, preventing external offices from coordinating orders with their local contracting offices, adding budget processes and reviews that only add to the procurement timeline. The AI Talent 2.0 BOA will be fully decentralized and will only require a scope determination from CDAO before external agencies can put it to use—ensuring the DoD maintains a qualified and experienced workforce that can match advancements in industry.

The Artificial Intelligence (AI) Talent win is the result of a 2-step acquisition process and marries two of Azimuth’s most notable areas of expertise: AI technology and talent acquisition. Army Contracting Command – Rock Island (ACC-RI) awarded the 5-year BOA in May and will present competitive Task Orders as needed. Through the contract, Azimuth will provide technical management support including Agile development, cyber analytics, cybersecurity, systems engineering, machine learning model development, ML operations and applied data science, and testing. The programmatic support we will provide includes administration and operations, logistics, graphics, project management, and training.

“We are excited about this win and feel uniquely positioned to meet customer needs across the agencies,” said Valerie Rossi, president, and CEO of Azimuth. “Our AI experience gives us hard-earned knowledge of the skill sets needed to perform this work in the DoD space—and we’re ready to rise to the challenge.”

Azimuth’s extensive AI portfolio includes legacy DoD programs with joint/integrated beginnings, HPC support in the materials R&D space, as well we our own IR&D investments. In 2020, Azimuth invested over $1 million to create an in-house Autonomy, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Lab (AAIM), furthering our ability to provide unique and innovative AI-enabled solutions. Pairing this robust AI expertise with Azimuth’s proven ability to find the right people for the right positions is the ideal formula to ensure stellar contract performance.
