Azimuth Corporation Joins $46 Billion Contract to Address Emerging Weapons Development Needs

Lisa JeckeringNews

Azimuth Corporation of Beavercreek, OH is a key member of a winning prime contract team for the $46 billion Eglin Wide Agile Acquisition Contract (EWAAC) in support of the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Armament Directorate, at Eglin AFB. The EWAAC indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract has an ordering period through 2031 and offers the broad scope, funding flexibility, and agility needed to facilitate rapid acquisitions to address the Digital Trinity (Digital Engineering, Agile Software Development, and Open Systems Architecture) for advanced weapons systems. The EWAAC is available for use by all AFLCMC Armament Divisions as well as the Air Force Research Lab (AFRL), Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC), United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), and Air Force Test Center (AFTC) to support digital engineering programs.

This award provides an opportunity for Azimuth’s Autonomy, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Lab (AAIM) to further collaborate with EWAAC prime Unmanned Experts, Inc. (UMEX) on the application of AI for autonomous and collaborative Mission Planning and Command, Control, and Communications (C3) of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), collaborative combat aircraft (CCA), and collaborative weapons (CW). This includes technologies specifically for automatic air space deconfliction; autonomous swarm dynamic mission planning, execution, and control; multi-modality automatic target recognition and classification; dialable human-machine interface (HMI); and advanced modeling and simulation that incorporates reinforcement learning (RL) for autonomous systems. Azimuth and UMEX’s combined expertise present an agile small company team to the DAF that can deliver innovative state-of-the-art capabilities and solutions to address its digital engineering needs.

In a statement, Azimuth President and CEO Valerie Rossi stated, “We are thrilled to continue collaborating with UMEX through the EWAAC contract on technologies of such great importance to our national defense. Azimuth’s partnership with UMEX exemplifies the type of expertise, agility, and flexibility that small businesses can offer the government to rapidly advance defense capabilities and better serve our warfighters.”
