AZIMUTH CREATES A CORPORATE TEAM CHALLENGE
TO
SUPPORT WPAFB 15TH ANNUAL MARATHON EVENTS
At Azimuth Corporation, we embrace friendly competition, especially to enhance our goals for speed, teamwork and customer support. In order to celebrate Wright-Patterson Air Force Base 15th Annual Marathon and government partners, we created the Azimuth Innovators Team for fitness enthusiasts.
The Azimuth Innovators Team, made up of a quarter of the Azimuth staff, offers a mix of speed walkers, joggers, runners and physical fitness enthusiasts. The Azimuth Community Service Board sponsors the Team along with supplying a physical fitness training expert, shirts and encouragement. “It’s a feel-good means to support the health and wellness initiatives of our employees,” Valerie Rossi, President of Azimuth Corporation said. “Everyone can get involved. It’s a perfect way to showcase Wright-Patterson, the Air Force, and Greater Miami Valley region.”
The Azimuth Innovators Team recently participated in the USAF Marathon September, 17th, 2011 at the National Museum of the United States Air Force Wright-Patterson AFB with nearly 13,000 runners registered. The race highlighted historical places on Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, including the National Museum of the United States Air Force, the Air Force Institute of Technology, Headquarters Air Force Materiel Command, the Wright-Patterson AFB flight line, Huffman Prairie Flying Field, and the Wright Brothers Memorial Monument. With a route that weaved through Wright-Patterson housing neighborhoods, the marathon provided a unique opportunity for the Azimuth Innovators Team to see the base from a different perspective and to interact with residents as they passed by their homes.
Thank you to all those who support the Azimuth Innovators Team!

FOR THE SECOND YEAR IN A ROW AZIMUTH CORPORATION IS RECOGNIZED FOR EXEMPLARY WORKPLACE PRACTICES |
Azimuth Corporation received the 2011 Alfred P. Sloan Award for Business Excellence in Workplace Flexibility. This prestigious award recognizes employers of all sizes and types in the greater Dayton area and across the country that are using workplace flexibility as a strategy to increase workplace effectiveness and yield positive business results. The Alfred P. Sloan Awards for Business Excellence in Workplace Flexibility are part of the national When Work Works project,an ongoing initiative of Families and Work Institute, the Institute for a Competitive Workforce (an affiliate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce), and the Twiga Foundation. The Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce is the official When Work Works partner for Dayton and the surrounding region. The selection process is rigorous. First, employers’ flexibility programs and practices are measured against national norms from Families and Work Institute’s National Study of Employers. Employees are then surveyed confidentially on their access to flexible work options, the supportiveness of the culture and on nationally tested measures of workplace effectiveness. “As a recipient of the 2011 Sloan Award, Azimuth Corporation ranks in the top 20% of employers nationally in terms of its programs, policies and culture for creating an effective and flexible workplace,” states Ellen Galinsky, president of Families and Work Institute. “In addition, what makes this honor so special is that employees have corroborated this, affirming that it is indeed an effective and flexible workplace.” Azimuth Corporation will be recognized at an upcoming event hosted by the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce.
