AIR FORCE Azimuth Corp. nabs $8.7M contract for laser defense technologies By Mark Hoover, Washington Technology Nov 02, 2015 Azimuth Corp. has won an $8.7 million task order to provide next generation laser protection research and development to the Air Force.

Under the contract, Azimuth will provide research and development of materials technologies and next generation laser protection capabilities that provide protection for aircrews against friendly and hostile lasers operating in the visible and near infrared spectral regions, the Defense Department said in a release.
Work will be performed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, Camarillo, Calif., and Santa Rosa, Calif., and is slated to wrap up in January 2019.
