COVER STORY: Who will be the next crop of big Dayton defense companies?

catapultNews

In addition to others… here are some of local companies you should be keeping an eye on: Azimuth Corp.

Azimuth took a giant step this year when it moved from Riverside to Signal Hill Office Center in Beavercreek. The company posted $8.1 million in revenue in 2014 and is projecting a nearly 20 percent increase this year. It has about 50 employees, including 30 locally, and runs a robust internship program with Air Force Research Laboratory. Valerie Rossi, president of Azimuth, will push to reach $15 million in annual revenue in the next two years. That will come from a combination of big deals including research work expected to be announced soon and orders on a massive contract for the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense/Intelligence on which it won a spot last year. If those come through, Azimuth would probably need to hire in Dayton and at other locations. Azimuth provides engineering, research and development, and intelligence support services. The Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Coast Guard are also among its clients.
